Who we are

Established in 1918, Greaves West & Ayre has been advising and supporting clients for over 100 years. Growing considerably over that time, GWA now has 14 partners and over 120 employees. Offices are situated in Northumberland, County Durham, and East Lothian, with clients throughout the UK and overseas.

GWA’s reputation has been founded on traditional professional values, matched with a passion to meet the changing needs of our clients, and, of course providing first class Quality Advice and Quality Service every time.

GWA Asset Management Ltd (GWAAM) has been set up to provide discretionary management services, enhancing the investment proposition to GWA Group wealth management clients

The Qualis Investment Service is at the centre of the GWAAM’s offering and will employ the same rigorous quantitative and qualitative research methodology that has been used within the management of the GWA Group model investment portfolios over the past ten years.

GWAAM’s research led, multi-asset portfolios, offer investors something that has been broadly ignored over the past 10 years, true diversification. GWAAM’s focus is to consistently deliver broad asset class exposure, without the increasing concentration into a handful of assets that we have witnessed over the past decade.

Combined with access to who we believe to be the best investment managers, and conviction in our positioning, is what GWAAM understand clients want for their investible wealth.

At the centre of the Qualis service is the MGTS Qualis Growth Fund and the MGTS Qualis Defensive fund.  GWAAM has been appointed as the Investment Manager of the funds, which are operated by Margetts Fund Management Ltd (MGTS) for the specific requirements of GWAAM investors.

Margetts have full responsibility for the management and operation of the funds as the Authorised Corporate Director.

The Bank of New York Mellon (International) Ltd are one of the world’s largest and well known trust and depositary companies.  They have been appointed as the depositary and custodian of the MGTS Qualis funds.  It is their responsibility to ensure that the funds’ assets are held in safekeeping and separate to other parties involved.
